OUR STORY
A Taste of History, A Legacy of Love
At Blue Ridge Diner, our story is as rich and comforting as the meals we serve. Our home, located at 113 East Main Street in Floyd, holds a fascinating history. This building, originally constructed in 1897, began its life as the Bank of Floyd. Through the decades, it evolved, always remaining a place of gathering and community connection, albeit under various names and owners. We are proud to continue this legacy, honoring the echoes of the past within these very walls, including the original bank vault that now quietly marks our beginning.
The location itself has long been a beloved spot for local eateries, most recently as the cherished Blue Ridge Cafe. When the opportunity arose to step into this historic space, Kristin Spangler Crawford and her husband, Travis Crawford, knew it was a chance to embark on a new chapter. Both graduates of Floyd County High School, Kristin and Travis share a deep love for good food and the community. While neither came from a traditional food service background, their passion for creating a welcoming space where people could enjoy delicious, satisfying meals was undeniable. Travis had extensive experience from working at Joe's Diner in Blacksburg, and they eagerly embraced the opportunity to bring their vision to life in their hometown.
